Celebrate a Life

Celebrate A Life 2008 has finished. Information about the next Celebrate a Life will appear here in late 2009.

The celebration

Each year we hang hundreds of stars on the Christmas trees at our Chelsea and Sutton hospitals. Every star displays a printed name which is a personal celebration of the life of a loved one.

Carol service (2008)

Come join us at 18:00 on Tuesday 9 December in Sutton or 17:00 on Thursday 11 December in Chelsea, when we will be switching on our Christmas tree lights and having a short carol service, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

This is always a very popular evening and a true celebration of life – both for those present and those who are in our memories.

Name a star

For a suggested donation of £15 you can add a star to our tree. You will also receive a gold star badge to thank you for supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

Please note: you can still name a star, but we cannot guarantee that the name of your loved will apear in the Order of Service as the deadline for this has passed. Contact us for details.

How your gift helps us

Celebrate a Life is one of the hospital's most popular events, raising more than £200,000 over the last five years.

All donations raised this Christmas will go straight to work where they are needed most: on our wards, in our diagnostic and drug trialling centres and in our research labs, helping people who have cancer right now.

Roadworks in Sutton

Roadworks in Sutton are causing problems for people visiting the hospital. If you're planning to drive to the carol service please allow extra time for your journey.

I love taking my grandchildren along to see the tree and the stars with their granddad’s name on.
