The Head & Neck Cancer Research Trust

IMage: The Head and Neck Cancer Research Trust
Registered charity 277955
The Head & Neck Cancer Research Trust (H&NCRT) was founded in 1979 to promote awareness and fund research into head and neck cancers.

Our aims

The aims of the Trust are to promote research into the chosen aspects of head and neck tumours. As part of our aim, we support three postgraduate clinical research posts for young overseas specialists.

As a long term goal, the Trust wishes to establish a Head & Neck Cancer Research Unit at The Royal Marsden and Institute of Cancer Research. This will provide a national centre for research into head and neck cancer.

Our achievements

The fundraising achievements of our supporters have allowed us to:

  • support studies into the use of new drugs that cut of the supply of growth factors to cancer cells
  • fund two clinical research nurses to support clinical trials into the use of viruses in cancer treatment
  • fund the Roger Baines fellowship for clinicians
  • help to fund a seminar on head and neck cancers for Iraqi doctors, surgeons and senior nurses
  • fund the Blair Hesketh Annual Memorial Lecture, to be given at the AGM of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists.

Fundraising events

Our supporters have raised funds for us in a variety of innovative ways. From sky diving and walking the length of Britain to gala lunches and charity race nights...
