Mr Andrew Hayes


Mr Andrew Hayes MA PhD FRCS is a Consultant General Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist on the Sarcoma Unit and the Melanoma Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Having trained in Oxford, London and Washington DC, he has a specialist surgical practice in soft tissue sarcoma and advanced melanoma. He has a research interest in angiogenesis as a potential therapeutic approach in cancer and has been awarded a Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons for his research. He has published widely and lectured nationally and internationally on this subject

Prof.  Ian Judson


Ian Judson MA MB BChir MD FRCP has many years of experience in the development of new anticancer drugs having been involved in early clinical trials with a number of licensed products including carboplatin and raltitrexed.  Current Phase I trials in the Drug Development Unit are focused on the clinical investigation of novel anticancer agents incorporating “proof of principle” pharmacodynamic biomarker studies, including functional imaging.  Prof Judson has also been involved in the management of sarcomas for a number of years and is Head of the Sarcoma Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital.  He is Vice-Chairman of the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group, currently President of the British Sarcoma Group and President of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society for 2007.  He is PI for a number of international sarcoma trials and has a special interest in Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GISTs).


Dr Eleanor Moskovic


Dr. Eleanor Moskovic MRCP FRCR has been Consultant Radiologist The Royal Marsden Hospital for over 10 years and has been the designated Radiologist to the Sarcoma Unit for most of that time. She is widely experienced in the CT, MRI and ultrasound appearances of benign as well as malignant soft tissue tumours and undertakes guided biopsies of these masses when appropriate. As well as proving radiological services at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust she reviews many outside scans from referring hospitals of patients with soft tissue tumours. She has published widely within the radiological literature and contributed to Oncology texts on the subject of Sarcoma imaging.

Dr Frank Saran


Dr Frank Saran MD FRCR is Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital since 2001. Prior to this appointment he worked as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Velindre Hospital, Cardiff establishing a dedicated sarcoma service for SE Wales.  He has a particular focus on the management of patients requiring complex radiotherapy conformal high precision radiotherapy as well as children and adolescents with soft tissue and bone tumours. He has numerous publication in the area of conformal radiation techniques as well contributed to a number of text books and lectured widely on this subject. He is member of a number of national and international societies including the EORTC  (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer) Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group and the UKCCSG (United Kingdom Children’s Cancer Study Group) and is actively involved in clinical research projects in this area.

Professor Cyril Fisher


Prof. Fisher MA MD DSc FRCPath is a pathologist who specialises in diagnosis of soft tissue tumours. He has been President of the International Society of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, lectures widely and has published over 350 papers. Prof. Fisher receives cases for second opinion from pathologists throughout the U.K. and abroad.
