Due to the end of the current term of office of one of our Councillors for the Carer constituency we are holding an election for this position.
Stand for election and have your say
The Membership Council plays an important role in the governance of the Trust. Through the four Membership Council meetings held a year, Councillors:
- hear about the work of the hospital
- provide feedback and advice on the strategic direction of the organisation from their constituents’ perspective
- formally sign off on the annual report and accounts.
If you would like to stand for election for this important role, please request a nomination pack by calling Electoral Reform Services on 020 8889 9203 and return it by 5pm on Thursday 17 June.
With your nomination pack, you will receive further information about what being a Membership Councillor entails, a nomination form and guidance on how to complete the form.
You will need to prepare a brief election statement describing why you want the role and why you think you should be elected.
Is being a Councillor for you?
Our Membership Councillors have a range of different backgrounds and we are looking for the Membership Council to be as diverse as possible. You do not need to have a particular set of skills, experience or qualifications, just an interest in helping to shape the future of cancer care.
The nomination pack includes Frequently Asked Questions which give more details about the role.
All new Councillors will participate in an induction programme and there is an ongoing seminar programme and support from the Foundation Trust Office.
If you’d like to discuss the role in more detail please don’t hesitate to
contact us.
