The Royal Marsden sponsors Nursing Times Cancer Nurse Leader of the Year award for 2008

The Nursing Times Awards recognise and reward the tremendous achievements of nurses in all areas of healthcare.

The Royal Marsden is sponsoring the Cancer Nurse Leader of the Year award for 2008 to recognise and reward high quality nursing leadership in cancer care 

Many key cancer leaders in the UK and overseas have benefited from their links with the The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. 

The winner of this award will gain a coveted place on the highly prestigious National Cancer Leadership Programme run by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. 
 
The National Cancer Leadership Programme, now in its fifth year, attracts participants from all over the United Kingdom.

Previous participants have have identified the significant benefits from this course, both for their organisations and also for their own personal development. The highly experienced faculty work with participants on developing the leadership skills which will drive improvements in cancer services.

The course includes workshops, master classes and visits to organisations across the United Kingdom.

How to enter

Entrants for the Award must be nominated by their manager, by a colleague or by a member of their team – someone who recognises the qualities of leadership that they bring and the impact that leadership has on the care their patients receive.

The nominee may work in primary or secondary care, in hospital or a hospice, in the NHS or the independent sector – in any environment recognised as a provider of care for patients with cancer.
